Catering for Every Diet: Our Approach to Inclusivity

By Patricia Spencer  ·  January 10, 2026

We don't treat "dietary restrictions" as a problem to solve. At Savoir Faire, inclusivity isn't an afterthought tacked onto a standard menu — it's how we build every menu from the ground up. The best dishes on our wedding and event menus are often the ones designed for the guests with the most specific needs.

One menu, not two

Nothing signals an afterthought more than the "special plate" quietly slid in front of the vegan guest at a table of omnivores. We design menus so that the vegan, gluten-free, halal, or kosher options look and feel as intentional as everything else — often more so. When every guest receives the same courses, with modifications invisible on the plate, the event feels unified.

Vegan-first designs that omnivores request

Some of our proudest moments have come from fully vegan events. We once catered a wedding for 110 guests where every single dish — from arrival canapés to dessert — was plant-based. The feedback from meat-eating guests at the end of the night was identical: "I didn't miss anything." That's the standard.

For a mixed-diet reception, we'll often design the vegan main course first, then build complementary proteins around it. Mushroom wellington, roasted-squash risotto, or a hearty lentil-and-walnut ragu are starting points — not compromises.

Gluten-free without the gluten-free sadness

We keep our kitchen set up for cross-contamination awareness from day one, and our desserts lean on naturally gluten-free bases — flourless chocolate cake, almond-meal tarts, meringues, panna cotta — so the gluten-free guests get dessert as impressive as everyone else's.

Halal, kosher, and cultural traditions

We work with halal suppliers for clients who need certified meat, and we've collaborated with kosher caterers on shared-kitchen arrangements for events that require full certification. For cultural dishes tied to heritage — your grandmother's recipe, a family dish from your home country — we'll learn it with you rather than reinterpret it.

Start the conversation early

The earlier we know about your guests' needs, the more elegantly we can weave them in. Send us a rough list with your quote request and we'll build the menu from there.
